Trezor is a hardware wallet that allows you to store and manage your cryptocurrencies offline, protecting them from online threats such as hacking, phishing, and malware. With Trezor, you can:
- Store your private keys offline: The core advantage of hardware wallets is that they keep your keys offline, away from the reach of online threats.

- Use advanced security features: Trezor offers features like two-factor authentication (2FA), passphrase support, and secure firmware updates.
With Trezor, your digital assets are safe and easily accessible, ensuring full control at your fingertips.
Step 1: Unbox Your Trezor Device
When you receive your Trezor hardware wallet, the box will include the following:
- Trezor device (Trezor One or Trezor Model T)
- USB cable (for connecting your Trezor to your computer or mobile device)
- Recovery seed card to securely write down your recovery phrase
- Quick start guide to help you get up and running
Important Reminder:
Your recovery seed phrase is the most crucial part of your wallet. It’s your backup, and you should store it safely, offline, and in a secure location. Never share this phrase with anyone.
Step 2: Download Trezor Suite
To manage your Trezor wallet, you’ll need to download the Trezor Suite app. Trezor Suite is the official app that lets you interact with your Trezor device and manage your cryptocurrencies.
- Go to the Official Trezor Website
Head to the official Trezor.io/start page. - Download Trezor Suite
Select the right version for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux) and click Download. - Install Trezor Suite
Open the downloaded file and follow the instructions to install Trezor Suite on your computer or device. - Launch Trezor Suite
Once the installation is complete, open Trezor Suite to begin the setup.
Step 3: Set Up Your Trezor Device
Now that you have Trezor Suite installed, it’s time to set up your Trezor wallet.
- Connect Your Trezor Device
Plug your Trezor hardware wallet into your computer or mobile device using the provided USB cable. For the Trezor Model T, you may also connect via Bluetooth if using a mobile device. - Initialize Your Device
- If this is your first time using your Trezor wallet, the device will prompt you to set up a PIN code (4-8 digits) for additional security.
- Generate a Recovery Seed: The Trezor device will generate a 12 or 24-word recovery phrase. Write it down carefully on the provided recovery seed card. This is your backup and the only way to restore your wallet if your device is lost or damaged.
- Confirm Your Recovery Phrase
You will be asked to confirm the recovery phrase by selecting the words in the correct order. This ensures you have securely written down your recovery phrase.
Step 4: Add Cryptocurrency Accounts
Once your Trezor device is set up, you can start adding cryptocurrency accounts to manage.
- Open Trezor Suite
Launch Trezor Suite and select your Trezor device from the list. - Add Accounts
In the Accounts tab, click Add Account to add the cryptocurrencies you wish to manage. Supported coins include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and hundreds of other tokens. - Verify on the Trezor Device
For each account you add, your Trezor device will prompt you to confirm the account details, ensuring you are adding the correct information.
Step 5: Sending and Receiving Cryptocurrencies
With your Trezor device set up and accounts added, you can now start managing your cryptocurrencies. Sending and receiving digital assets is simple:
To Receive Cryptocurrency
- Select the Account
In Trezor Suite, select the account you wish to receive cryptocurrency to. - Generate Address
Click on Receive, and Trezor Suite will generate a unique cryptocurrency address for that account. - Verify Address
Always verify the address on your Trezor device to ensure it’s correct before sharing it. This prevents address tampering or phishing attacks. - Share the Address
Copy the address and share it with the person or platform sending the cryptocurrency.
To Send Cryptocurrency
- Select the Account
Choose the cryptocurrency account from which you want to send funds. - Enter the Recipient’s Address
Click Send, then input the recipient’s address and the amount to send. - Confirm on Your Trezor Device
Your Trezor device will ask you to confirm the transaction details. Verify everything is correct and approve the transaction on your device. - Complete the Transaction
After confirmation, the transaction will be processed, and you can monitor it in Trezor Suite.
Step 6: Keep Your Trezor Secure
Update Your Firmware
Make sure your Trezor wallet is running the latest firmware. Regular updates improve security and functionality. You can easily update it through Trezor Suite.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
For extra protection, enable 2FA for exchanges and accounts that support it. This adds an extra layer of security on top of your PIN and recovery phrase.
Backup and Protect Your Recovery Phrase
Always keep your recovery phrase in a safe, offline location. Never store it digitally or share it with anyone. This phrase is your only way to recover your wallet if your Trezor device is lost or damaged.
