This guide will take you through the process of getting started with your Trezor hardware wallet, setting it up, and managing your crypto assets using the official Trezor app. Let’s dive in!
What is Trezor?
Trezor is a hardware wallet designed to keep your cryptocurrencies secure by storing your private keys offline. It’s trusted by millions of users around the world for its top-tier security and ease of use.
With a Trezor wallet, you control your private keys, meaning only you have access to your digital assets. No one can access your funds without your device, PIN, or recovery phrase.
Trezor wallets are fully compatible with the official Trezor Suite app, allowing you to manage over 1,000 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), XRP, Solana (SOL), and many more.
Step 1: Unbox Your Trezor Device
When you receive your Trezor hardware wallet, you’ll find the following items in the box:
- Trezor device (Trezor One or Trezor Model T)
- USB cable for connecting to your computer
- Recovery seed card to securely write down your recovery phrase
- Quick start guide for an easy setup process
Before starting, ensure that you’re using a secure network and trusted computer to complete the setup. Never share your recovery phrase or PIN with anyone, as this is the key to accessing your funds.
Step 2: Download Trezor Suite

If this is your first time using the device, Trezor Suite will prompt you to initialize the device. This process involves:- Setting a PIN: You’ll be asked to create a 4-8 digit PIN to secure your device.
- Generating a Recovery Phrase: Your Trezor will generate a 12-24 word recovery phrase. Write it down on the recovery seed card and store it in a safe place. This recovery phrase is crucial for recovering your wallet if your device is lost or damaged. Never share it with anyone.
- Confirm Your Recovery Phrase
After writing down your recovery phrase, you’ll be asked to confirm it by selecting the words in the correct order. This step ensures that you’ve securely recorded your recovery phrase.
Step 4: Add Cryptocurrency Accounts
Once your Trezor device is set up, you can start managing your cryptocurrency accounts.
- Open Trezor Suite
With your Trezor device connected, open Trezor Suite to access your wallet. - Add a Cryptocurrency Account
Click the “Accounts” tab in Trezor Suite and then click “Add Account.” Select the cryptocurrency you want to manage (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, etc.). - Verify on Your Device
Your Trezor device will ask you to confirm the account details on the screen. This ensures that you are adding the correct account. - Repeat for Other Cryptocurrencies
If you wish to manage multiple cryptocurrencies, you can continue adding different accounts for various coins and tokens.

In Trezor Suite, select the account you want to receive crypto to. - Generate Receive Address

Copy the address and send it to the person or platform from which you’re expecting crypto.
To Send Crypto
- Select the Account
In Trezor Suite, choose the account from which you want to send cryptocurrency. - Enter the Recipient’s Address
